ferocious alligators :: embrace the camera

these pictures are from a couple of weeks ago of just the little mister and myself and a quiet morning to enjoy.  i am so happy that we have had time this past year to spend together just the two of us during the day while ella was at school.  ella and i had that time for the first two years of her life and it was a really special time.  i never thought i could love another baby as much...boy was i wrong!

he loves reptiles...snakes, lizards and especially alligators.  somehow it always ends up that they are attacking me, but luckily he is always there to save me.
that's my boy!

head on over to the anderson crew for a little more embrace the camera fun!

Homemade Water Park

it's getting pretty warm these days and a couple of weeks ago i remembered this pvc sprinkler set-up over on ashley ann's blog .  without a computer at the time, i wasn't exactly sure how she had made it or even how it looked, for that matter,
so we decided to just wing it and made a little tunnel to run through.  the fun thing about this project is that we can take it apart and make different set-ups with the pipes and fittings and it is also easy to take apart and store. i think i just need to get a couple of caps for the ends so that it doesn't have to be a closed system.
i was laughing as i went back and read ashley ann's post about her experience at lowe's because it sounds a lot like my experience at home depot.
i used 1/2 inch PVC pipe and a bunch of different fittings.  i kind of had an idea of what our design would look like so i just bought the pieces i needed and a couple of other fittings so that we could create different set-ups.  the PVC pipe was really easy to saw and drill through.  i used one of the smallest drill bits to drill the holes and just made a lot of holes.
if you plan on making one start early because it took me a little longer than i thought and the kids were more then ready to start playing by the time i was finished.

this picture brings back so many memories of when i was a kid.  one of the best parts about swimming or playing in any source of water and then getting cold was lying on the hot concrete to warm up...ahhh.  i tend to get cold easily so i spent a lot of time on the concrete soaking in the heat.
snack time.

i have a feeling we will be using this a lot this summer.

we are still here and so is summer...

so where have we been?  well that is going to take a little time.  our computer decided it was tired and worn out and did a deep sea dive and never resurfaced.  it was old.  we knew it was coming soon...so why did i load all of our pictures from our trip to panama/el salvador on it and not back them up on our eternal hard drive...i dunno.  that would have been way too easy.  it has been over a month now and i am still kicking myself.  everyone keeps assuring me that they are still retrievable, but i'm not getting my hopes up.

there is some good news to my sob story.  we have a new computer, thanks to our friends who just happened to have one that has been laying around for over a year.  thank you, thank you!!!
our computer crash kind of happened at a good time. ( i'm trying to stay positive)  this last month has been super busy so i have only missed not having it just a little...okay, a little more than a little, but it did give me more time to get other things done.
we are now proud parents of a Kindergarten graduate and a big 4 year old boy.  lots of celebrating goin' on around here.  father's day was another day of celebration.  a whole lotta pictures to go through, post and back-up on our eternal hard drive.  i learned my lesson.
summer is now here and we will be doing a lot of this...relaxing, soaking in the sun, and enjoying popsicles and ice cream.

it's nice to be back.
