gypsy girl
i did a really fun shoot with a friend who is getting close to putting out her own album.
she is amazing!
her hair was done by another friend who is equally talented.
i think there was more clothes strewn about than what I have in my own closet.
we ran around town and chased the sun.
she was a gypsy girl for the night.

the bump and...the baby
just wanted to share some pictures from a while back of my beautiful sister-in-law and her cute belly. you would never guess she is having her fourth, right?
ha, this one cracks me up.
and here is the sweet little emma.
i'm alway amazed how small newborns are.
this little peanut is such a good little baby.
i think she will be the baby of the family....
but you never know, ha!

a short little trip
have you ever been to a sangeet party?
this was my first.
it's an indian pre-wedding celebration.
one of my greatest loves is traveling.
i'm not the resort traveler who sits by the pool all day...i love to actually experience a culture.
don't get me wrong i love me some pool time but when i am traveling i want to live and breath the culture as much as i possible can.
shooting this sangeet with my friend anji was like taking a short little trip.
i wanted to just absorb the foreign scents, the beauty of the vibrant colors, and the wonderful traditions that i was able to experience for just an evening.
a few things i learned about the indian culture...
red represents the bride
the henna motifs are also called mehendi
it's believed that the darker the henna stains the more the husband loves his wife
the women try many different things to help the henna stain darker
the indian women love to sing
it was such a beautiful experience!!

sneak peek
this week flew by...
i have been going non-stop for the last couple of days and this weekend is going to be full also.
just wanted to share a sneak peek of this little cutie my niece.
she has so much personality!!
i did a little shoot with her mama, my sister-in-law, who is expecting her fourth.
she truly has the baby bump glow...i will share some of those soon.

a slow spring hike

i let the kids use my camera here and there but usually it is really brief.
we went on a little hike last week and i let them take my old point and shoot camera and use it the entire time.
i really want to see what pictures they took but the camera died near the end of our hike and i haven't charged it yet...it should be interesting, ha,ha.
i had so much fun observing them and how much they enjoyed taking pictures.
we went at a lot slower pace because they wanted to take pictures of everything...when i say everything, i mean everything.
there are probably 20 pictures of one ant walking across the path...i love it!!
the slower pace gave me time to take pictures of some of my surrounding also.
i love that with a camera you are able to see everything around you a little differently.
at the end of our hike we even saw a rattle snake...yikes!!!

she said YES!!!
last week I shot a little engagement shoot for my cousin and his now fiance.
we planned the shoot for what turned out to be one of the most beautiful warm weekends in a while.
besides crawling through the parking lot to find a parking spot it was a perfect evening.
they were so easy to shoot...they are so cute together.
plus they were game for everything i suggested.
one of the things i love most about photography is capturing an emotion.
candids are my favorite
and the interaction between these two made it easy to capture the emotion between them.
these are a few I like
